David Oaks is a husband, a dad to a young son, and a dog lover through and through. In February 2025, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Since then, he’s endured aggressive chemotherapy, major surgery, and life-changing uncertainty — all while unable to work.

In July, doctors attempted a Whipple procedure at Johns Hopkins, hoping for remission. During surgery, they discovered the cancer had spread to his liver. David’s diagnosis is now stage four.

And still — he’s fighting.

In January 2026, David is scheduled to travel for NanoKnife surgery, a specialized and aggressive treatment rarely offered to stage four patients, but one his medical team believes is worth pursuing because of his strength, age, and determination.
